Cal-a-Vie Health Spa and Vista Valley Country Club located in San Diego's North County Merged
Vista Valley Country Club, known as "the Hidden Jewel" of San Diego country clubs has been located next door to the exclusive Cal-a-Vie Health Spa for over 20 years. Both have served a very discerning clientele with high expectations. Whether it is for a secluded spa get-away or to enjoy a private picturesque golf and country club, their members and guests demand the best. These two enterprises have now been merged under the ownership of John and Terri Havens.
John Havens also serves as President of Houston-based, Seismic Exchange, Inc.. John Havens describes the merger as a natural fit. "Initially, I wanted to purchase the club to protect the natural beauty of the hills that surround the two enterprises. The Spa and Golf Course "Complex" encompasses over three hundred acres of rolling hills and valleys highlighted by streams, waterfalls, specimen Oak trees dating back to past generations, miles of hiking trails, and a large wooded park used frequently for weddings and outdoor parties. Terri and I visualized a completely remodeled club house with increased fine dining facilities and outdoor patio areas for casual gatherings. We began planning the integration of a new state of the art fitness club, a water themed play center, and a Cal-a-Vie Day Spa, the first of its kind in San Diego. The challenging championship Ted Robinson-designed 18-hole golf course would be refined by upgrading paths, bridges, and rest rooms, and replacing carts and golfing equipment used to service guests. The course would be maintained in its usual first class condition with some lengthening of strategic holes to better accommodate low handicap golfers".
"This will set Vista Valley Country Club apart from any other golfing country club." expresses John Ledenbach, General Manager of Vista Valley Country Club. Mr. Ledenbach has been with the club for over 17 years.
John Havens goes on to say, "My wife, Terri, and I have enjoyed the privilege of operating Cal-a-Vie for over seven years and have been passionate about providing stellar service and spa wellness programs for the benefit of our guests. The spa has been able to make the Vista Valley Golf Course available to its guests for many years and has maintained a fine relationship with its member management. We knew that the club and spa had a lot in common and that Cal-a-Vie and Vista Valley would be a perfect match." "We are thrilled to move ahead in creating one of the most unique country clubs in southern California. Not only will the existing members benefit from their new club additions and membership privileges, but the club will also offer unique member benefits by infusing the Cal-a-Vie living and wellness philosophy into the club experience. Cal-a-Vie brings to the club its expertise in providing world-renown service and a passion for well-being which builds upon what Vista Valley and Cal-a-Vie already have in common".
